Black Swan Costume by ~dragonariaes
I love making tutus. They’re so much fun to decorate and design. <3 This is one that I made for last dance season.
Feathers feathers everywhere. She was dancing as both the White and Black Swan in this piece based off of Swan Lake. View high resolution

Beginning of the new year, time to start from a clean slate. I’ll be listing all sorts of goodies in the next couple of weeks, to try to finish paying off last years debts.

Handmade one of a kind jewelry

Loose gemstones and cabochons for jewelry making

AND if you place an order, use code TUMBLRADDICT and get a free gift as well as free shipping on all orders until January 31st (On Top of my regular January special)

I made this one for my husband as a prototype. He needed an awesome swag bag for convention going. We always bring backpacks, so I figured out a shape that was perfect for holding a laptop, and a stack of graphic novels, video games or dvds.

Yeah, so I made one. This is my test build. I think I’m going to extend the top over the head a bit to make up for the weight of the “beak”. The belt I used to hold the mask on works really well, so I’m definitely going to keep that aspect of the design. Onto the next mask. ^^

Not so shameless self promotion

If you follow me, you know I love handmade.

I love making things and I love things made by hand with care and love.

One thing I hate; is places that abuse crafters and artisans, promising to help them promote their work and then taking them for all they are worth.

So, I have to share this again. It isn’t a big site, but it offers a wonderful service to artists looking to connect with customers. If you want to shop handmade or sell your handmade goods, I couldn’t recommend them more. They are kind to their sellers and their customer service is amazing.

If you want to find me, I am Dragonfyrestudio there.

Basic accounts for sellers are FREE. Pro accounts are cheap and cover the cost of an entire shop. There are no sale fees. There are no processing fees. If you want to give Artfire a try, use this link to get your 3rd month FREE.

You do not have to sign up for an account to purchase.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled re-blogs and whatnot.

Say whaaaa??

I make some really unusual pieces for people on special order, and there is nothing I love more than running into someone wearing a piece I made. Today though, was a special treat. I ran into a girl wearing a really unique necklace that I had made as a surprise Christmas gift.

Me: That is really pretty.

Girl: Thanks! I made it myself. It was really hard to do, but I love it!

Me: Really? I thought I made it as a special order for your mom last December…

Girl: ***blank stare***

Me: It looks good on you. ***walks away***

BWAhahahahahahaha. Priceless.

Some hand beaded adventurine cabochons I made. I love stitching these. They take a long time, but they are so freaking pretty when they’re done. XD

I sell a bunch of these with different stone centers and finished on Artfire, so if you ever want something pretty and sparkly that is pretty detailed and pretty cheap: http://www.artfire.com/ext/shop/studio/dragonfyrestudio

A mummy mask WIP (work in progress) I’m playing around with the rotting skin before I do the wraps. All of the fabric has to be stained and worn before the final wrap. If there’s enough interest, maybe I’ll through together a tutorial on how to make one for yourself.

The design I decided to go with. Tweeked a little here and there as I saw how the fabrics came together. I’ve decided that nice silk is one of the most amazing fabrics to sew on. I never used my nice silks before because they’re so expensive, but I just had to on this dress and I think I might have spoiled myself a little… Makes me not want to go back to sewing on polyester.
